Fuchsine Necklace, originally uploaded by antigenre.

Well, the holiday weekend sale is on! From Black Friday through Cyber Monday, everything in my Etsy shop, including this festive new necklace, will be 20% off. On top of that, orders over $50 in the US and Canada will receive free shipping. Happy shopping!

In other news, I now have a shop at 1000 Markets. Take a look at it here: AntiGenre

I hope everyone in the US had a great Thanksgiving yesterday!

Galaxy Ring, originally uploaded by antigenre.

I had a pair of my Buckshot earrings that never sold sitting around in my inventory drawer for a long time. I decided to dismantle them and try something different, and this ring is the result! To me, it’s sort of a mod-yet-industrial cocktail ring of sorts. I have a brass prototype to keep for myself, but I think I want one in this (rather striking, if I may say so myself!!) blackened sterling silver. It’s currently available in my Etsy shop in sizes 7 and 8.

Shop Update:

In preparation for holiday shopping, I’ve decided to add a ‘Ready to Ship’ section to my shop.  Any items that are already made and ready to go out the door will be listed here, so be sure to check there if you are getting started on your holiday shopping!  I’ll add more pieces as I get them made.

It’s getting close midnight, which means it’s almost time for my birthday sale to start!  Actually, the sale is turning into a general celebration sale to mark not only my birthday, but the incredible new political direction that the United States is taking.  The historic election that took place yesterday is a terrific occassion to add to the list of things to celebrate!

At 12:00am on November 6th, a whole bunch of the best-sellers in my Etsy shop go on sale at 20% off their regular price.  I have several of each item in stock, so they’ll be ready to ship as soon as they’re sold.  Quantities are limited, though.  Once they’re gone, they’re gone, and items will be back in the shop at regular price on the 7th.

Happy Shopping!

Lame Excuses.

On Saturday, a co-worker relayed to me a conversation that her mother had with a friend.  This woman’s mom had just waited in line for a while to vote early in Chicago.  The conversation with the friend went something like this:

Mom:  I just voted.  Are you going to vote early, too?

Friend:  Well, I’m not sure I’m going to vote at all.

Mom:  ….What?  Why not?

Friend:  If I vote, they’ll probably call me up for jury duty.

Mom:  WTF?!

Ok, I doubt my co-worker’s mom said that, but I’m sure she did have some choice words for this woman.  There are so many ways your local court systems can find you for jury duty.  If you have a driver’s license, they’ll find you.  If you pay your taxes, they’ll find you.  In some states, if you have a bank account, they’ll find you.

But, if you make up a lame excuse like this and don’t vote, I’ll find you!!  And ridicule you mercilessly.  In this historic race, there are no excuses for anyone who is capable to not participate and vote on November 4th!
