With metals and commodities prices down quite a bit this last week, I felt the need to splurge on some supplies.  I’ve got a small handful of events coming up, plus we’re right at the start of the holiday shopping season.  I’ve been able to get myself a little better organized than I was at this time last year, so I’m more prepared.

My material arrived today, and I’m spending a nice evening working on the assembly line with a Halloween-appropriate movie (28 Days Later) on in the background.  Watch for some new designs for the holidays to appear in my shop soon!

Some Upcoming Events:

Birthday Sale – 6 November 2008

RFB&D Holiday Craft Sale – 14 November 2008

Not anymore!  In the interesting in generating as much of a web presence as possible, I decided to open a shop on Big Cartel.  And while I’m still in the process of getting it set up and working on the design, I thought I’d give it a bit of a mini-debut.  Prices and shipping costs are identical to those in my Etsy shop, and it’s just one more place to find AntiGenre jewelry on the web!

As much as I gripe about Princeton, I have to admit that it is really beautiful this time of year.

All over the news today – on Meet the Press, Hardball, everywhere – people are saying there are only nine days left. Just nine days! I think they counted incorrectly, though, because my birthday is in eleven days, on the 6th of November.

Funnily enough, the 6th is the same day as my Birthday Sale! I’m getting to work on a bunch of the best sellers in my Etsy shop, and will have multiples of many of them available. The sale will run from 12:00am to midnight on the 6th, and when the sale is over, eveything will be back in the shop at its regular price. So tell your friends, stop by and do some shopping!

I just joined Twitter.  I’m not quite sure what to do with it or how often I’ll update it, but it’s kind of fun!

Take a look!

But I guess that’s a good thing!  Many thanks to HeyMichelle of Etsy for including my Corsico Ring in this terrific article about colorful metalwork.  Be sure to check out the amazing work of the other featured artists!  The full story is here:

Sparkly…, originally uploaded by antigenre.

Well, the winter holidays are coming, like it or not! I’m going to go shopping today and stock up on some sparkly vintage glass beads to make a few festive items for the shop. It’s never too early to start figuring out what to wear to all those holiday parties!

Something else that is on its way is my birthday, and to celebrate, I’m having a sale! I’ll be offering 20% off some ready-to-ship items. The sale will be in early November, after the presidential election. I figure it will be an ideal time for either celebratory shopping or consolation shopping, depending on your political persuasion. Either way, it will be fun, so check in in the near future for more details!

Riveting…, originally uploaded by antigenre.

I doubt that this was what Sarah Palin had in mind, but hey, it works for me. I went to town with my Foredom a while ago and created a pendant that was originally supposed to be part of my Buckshot series. I love the decayed, broken-down look of all these holes. I never did much with the pendant, so I decided to add to it, make use of some leftover brass tubing, and play around with some rivets. I plan to make some more pieces like this and should have the results posted in my shop soon.
